Making a Difference in COVID Times

The NBCMI is pleased to announce the 2020 Scholarship Winners!

In recognition and support of the heroic efforts put forth by the interpreter's community in a year full of uncertainty and challenges, the National Board launched our scholarship opportunity to commend medical interpreters' bravery and resilience.

Determining the recipient of the Scholarship is always a difficult decision and is based on many factors. Although we were not able to grant everyone a scholarship, the response to the 2020 program was so astounding that the Board has decided to grant an additional 5 scholarship awards.

As a result, to honor the unique circumstances of the past year and make the occasion even more special, we are awarding 2 scholarships per region!

We would like to thank all the participants for their enthusiastic response to our 2020 Scholarship program, and for sharing your heartfelt stories and dreams with us, even though sharing them likely meant revisiting painful memories.

Most importantly, we applaud you for your exceptional efforts to make a difference during crucial pandemic times!
